Through our own efforts and with the help of other volunteers, we:-
- review Aberdeenshire Council (AC)’s own plans
- initiate forward-looking plans on behalf of the community, e.g.
- a long-term look at the future development of Drumoak, via “Planning for Real”
- initiate and support community projects, e.g.
- initial support and launch of Friends of Durris Forest
- proposal, grant- and fund-raising and construction of the Drumoak Glebe footpath
- assistance to Crathes School Board in the successful fight against closure of Crathes School
- launch of Drumoak Youth Project 03
- revival and relaunch of the plan for the “missing link” (Peterculter to Milton of Crathes) in the Deeside Way
- support local charities and voluntary bodies, including (since 2000):-
- Crathes Hall and Kirkton Hall Committees
- Volunteer Centre, South Aberdeenshire
- Durris, Drumoak and Crathes Primary Schools/PTAs
- Swimming Clubs at Durris and Crathes Schools
- Drumoak and Durris Playgroup
- Durris Young Farmers
- 1st Drumoak Scout Group/1st Drumoak Guide Group
- Woodend Arts Association
- Drumoak Church
- Friends of Durris Forest
- Drumoak Youth Project (DYP)
- screen Planning Applications made to AC
- initiate and manage community consultations, by public meeting etc.
- support local initiatives, such as the Drumoak Youth Project 03
- provide community planning objections, where required
- provide media comment
