- built following the sinking of the Torry Ferry, with the loss of 32 lives, on 5 April 1876

- Bridge of Dee, 1527, rebuilt 1718-23, widened 1842

- ruined, although plans for re-use are under consideration

- the timber centre span of the first bridge was destroyed by the Muckle Spate
- the iron replacement lasted till the 1970’s and was replaced by a Bailey bridge
- the present concrete bridge was built in 1985
