2.         Minutes of December 2006 Meeting

This item was deferred to the February meeting.

3.      2007 Priorities

In the light of the meeting being non-quorate, David Morrish proposed that it concentrate on reviewing the 2007 Priorities agreed at the 2006 AGM.  The items discussed were:-

3.1  complete the DYP multi-purpose ballcourt

To arrange a meeting with some or all of the Drumoak Three within one month with the objective of progressing this (Action: Sandy Wallace)

3.2  encourage reporting to police call centre 0845 600 5 700

To arrange for republication of the relevant part of the AGM minutes in the Parish Newsletter and on the website (Action: John Hopkins) (DONE)

3.3  generate greater interest from Drumoak (including a targeting of the owners of the new housing)

To target new housing with a maildrop in the spring (once all of the houses were completed)

3.4  ensure that Planning Gain monies for the Planning Applications for Housing at Woodlands of Durris and expected for Housing at Crathes are appropriately identified and applied

As an initial step, to ensure that the two monitoring groups were put in contact with one another (Action: David Morrish).  It was noted that the Woodlands group would be convening a public meeting in Jan/Feb.

3.5  stop Aberdeenshire Council ignoring CDDCC

To update and send the draft provided by John Hopkins (Action: David Morrish)

3.6  contribute to green issues by lobbying Aberdeenshire Council for street lights to be extinguished between (say) 0100 and 0500

To draft a letter to Aberdeenshire Council on this subject, including reference to both the conservation of energy and the reduction of light pollution (Action: John Hopkins)

3.7  campaign for road safety and appropriate speed limits

To draft a letter to Aberdeenshire Council on this subject. (Action: David Morrish)

3.8  obtain better publicity in the local press, by recycling website and newsletter material

Ongoing task to forward suitable material to Deeside Piper (Action: John Hopkins)

4.      Publicity for CDDCC

As part of the effort to engage Drumoak residents, in particular - especially new residents - to draft a page for the Parish Newsletter about the role, etc. of CDDCC (Action: John Hopkins)

5.      Planning Objections

It was agreed - with one dissenting - to object to the planning applications for new dwellinghouses at Belskavie and Currackstane on the grounds that they are not included in the Local Plan (Action: John Hopkins).  This is in line with CDDCC’s general position, which is that if there is to be any point in having a Local Plan, it should actually be followed (DONE)

6.      Community Cycle Ride

To devise a low-traffic (and not too hilly!) route linking Crathes, Durris and Drumoak and utilising the Deeside Way, for a Community Cycle Ride to take place in May (Action: David Morrish)
