4b.        Presentation of Changes to Wind Farm Developments

Donald Spiers addressed the Community Council:

Natural Power will run the Mid Hill site as project mangers for the developers, ‘Olsens Mid Hill Wind Ltd’.  This development was fully consented 2004 Sect 75 and signed off by the Council.  At that time it was for 50 megawatt turbines, 20 @ 125M and 5 @ 100M.  The new application is for 75 megawatt turbines, 20 @ 125M and 5 @ 110 M, and there are also some changes to ground buildings.

The 110M turbines are to be lower for aesthetic reasons, they are nearer the edge of the area and are more visible.

The proposal will need permission from the Scottish Executive as well as the Council.

The final date for representations to the Scottish Executive or the Council is 12 December 2006.
