Minutes of Meeting

4th April 2006 at Irvine Arms, Drumoak from 19.30 hours

2. Minutes of March 2006 meeting

3. Minute Secretary Appointment

4. Drumoak School

 

Keith had tried to contact Jill, but no reply. Keith to try again re Donald Keith’s letter to Sandy Wallace on the question of fund raising. ACTION Keith & Jill

 

5. DYP03

 

Mark Hagger suggested Tom Taylor might take this project. Hold over for David and Don to discuss.

 

6. Deeside Way

 

Mark Hagger was present to discuss this topic. He is now doing part-time work for the Council on the Deeside Way, although he has been involved for the last 7 years originally in a voluntary capacity.

 

An official opening of the completed ‘Missing Link’ is planned for June 17th or 24th, to be organised by Aberdeenshire Council Ranger.  Mark to find out who the Ranger is.  The tape cutter to be an MP?  Then a walk/run led off by local hero, maybe Jim Williamson the marathon runner of Denside of Durris.

 

Signs are requested at Crathes as it is unclear where the route goes after crossing the B979.The correct route is the Crathes service road owned by Leys Estate. There were safety concerns voiced as quite a bit of traffic uses this. Mark suggested a path beside that road when the new development takes place.

 

There has been no progress as regards installing the gap by the gate near Park Smiddy. ACTION Molly

 

7. Major Developments

 

Nothing new to report.  Mark stressed the need for more facilities for Drumoak now it is growing in size.

 

8. Planning Applications

 

Jean sent a letter about the 3 houses at Durris Cottage. This was 2 weeks ago, but there has been no acknowledgement yet.

 

9. Correspondence

 

Jean had a reminder about response to Draft Lease.  ACTION John

Online survey for CC passed round.

 

10. AOB

 

Notice given of Durris Hall fun night 25th November.
