1. Introductions & Welcome

 

Three visitors from the International School Scouts where welcomed by the Community Council.

 

2. Minutes of January 2006 meeting

 

The minutes were approved.

 

3. Appointment of Minutes Secretaries

4. Drumoak School

 

It was agreed that a letter should be sent to Aberdeenshsire Council to raise the question of local funding to acquire and accelerate the school project. (Action: Jill Gow)

 

5. DYP 03

 

Nothing to report.

 

6. Park Quarry Liason Committee

 

Following concerns about the safety issues involved with the aggregate extraction at Milton of Crathes  encroaching upon the Deeside Way, a Risk Assessment was carried out by Aberdeenshire Council Planners which indicated that no action was required but that a notice would be placed at either end of the path. A letter is to be sent to Aberdeenshire Council to clarify the position.  (Action: David Morrish)

 

7. Major Developments

 

Drumoak  There seemed to be no sign of activity for the enlargement of the sewage plant.

 

Durris   Nothing to report.

 

Crathes   With regard to the proposed area designated for new houses in Crathes, the draft Development Brief is now with Aberdeenshire Council.  The draft DB is purely a site analysis  at this time.  Concerns were expressed about the length of the process and the lack of input by the community so far.

 

8. Planning Applications

 

Crathes – NTR

Drumoak -  With regard to the possible problems with the proposed access road junction layout at East Mains of Drum Nursery, CC contacted the police who advise that several trees will be cut down to improve visibility.

Durris – NTR

 

9.  Review other outstanding action

 

David Morrish to write a letter to Dalmaik Farm regarding the 7 strand barbed wire fence. (Action: David Morrish).  Follow up visit (Action: Molly Atkinson)

 

The steel gates across the Deeside Way on the Park Estate are to be adjusted to provide a gap at one side.

It was agreed to invite the new Banchory policewoman to a Community Council meeting. (Action:David Morrish)
