It was noted that Julia Mackay had indicated her intention to resign from CDDCC, because of pressure of academic work.  It was further noted that Didier Terroir had relocated to London and had indicated his intention to resign from CDDCC.

 

It was reported that Don Keith had been admitted to hospital with a heart condition.  A ‘get well soon’ card was sent from the CDDCC, wishing him a speedy recovery.  (July Update:  Don Keith had a heart triple-bypass operation early July)

 

1. Minutes of 03 May 2005 meeting

 

The minutes were approved.

2. Appointment of Minute Secretaries

 

  • July – Meeting cancelled (unless notified by David Morrish – one week’s notice required).

3. Drumoak School

 

A public meeting on 14 June 2005 will discuss: A site for the proposed ‘New Drumoak School’.  This will be hosted by the School Board.  John Hopkins will attend as an observer.  (Action: Hanni Willan & John Hopkins)   (July Update:  John Hopkins made the presentation to the Public Meeting, acting in place of Don Keith, and wrote/copied a note of the meeting to attendees, Aberdeenshire Council and www.durris.net)

 

4. Drumoak Youth Project (DYP)

 

The excavation and laying of the hard ball court has commenced, via Bert McIntosh.  Aberdeenshire Council to be informed.  Willie Munro to be informed via William Downie.  (Action: Jean Downie)

(July Update:  Construction of basic ballcourt completed; invoice for £12,886.30 received from McIntosh.  Grant cheque procured from Aberdeenshire Council and paid into CDDCC/DYP account.  Cheque for £12,886.30 sent to McIntosh.  Royal Bank of Scotland queried cheque upon receipt because they had “mislaid” the bank mandate.  Cheque nevertheless passed.  Action:  John Hopkins to write to RBoS, sending further photocopy of mandate)

 


5. Park Quarry Liaison Committee

 

Feedback from Don Keith ‘on hold’ pending his recovery.  (Action: Don Keith)

 

6. Major Developments

 

6.1 Drumoak Housing

 

John Hopkins is waiting a response from the formal request, for a copy of the section 75 Agreement, concluded with Stewart Milne  (Action: John Hopkins)  (July Update:  Section 75 Agreement received after some chasing, confirming information already known but establishing a precedent for section 75 Agreements being in the public domain)

 

6.2 Drumoak Public Hall

 

The question of ownership/responsibility of Drumoak Public Hall is nearing completion. It is highly likely that it is owned by Aberdeenshire Council. Final discussions are in progress.  John Hopkins has been requested to encourage more use/activity via Newsletter and internet.  (Action: John Hopkins - done)

 

6.3 Proposed Crathes Development

 

Development brief still on ‘track’, but slow.  A summary of the outcome of the public meeting will be prepared and circulated to attendees and others with concerns.  It is also intended to start recruiting working groups to cover:-

 

  • Roads and access
  • Environment
  • Planning (probably to be undertaken by CDDCC)
  • Other infrastructure (e g shop)

7.1 New applications

 

There was nothing controversial in any of the areas.

 

7.2 House at Hardgate

 

Actioned by Molly Atkinson.  Item closed.

 

8. Deeside Way

 

8.1 Bicycle Ride

 

The bicycle ride from Duthie Park to Crathes went OK. A second ride will be organised for a future date.  (Action: David Morrish)

 


8.2 Route to Crathes

 

Councillor Jenny Watson informed the meeting that Aberdeen Council had renamed the Deeside Way to the ‘Deeside Line’.

 

A 7 strand barbed wire fence has been erected on a path leading to the Deeside Way.  This item to be investigated by David Morrish.  (Action: David Morrish)

 

9. Correspondence

 

9.1 Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society (RDRPS)

 

Planning approval for the dismantling and relocation of the Oldmeldrum Railway Station to the Milton has been received.  No further action.

 

10. Bank Mandate

 

No further action required – item closed.  (July Update:  Action:  John Hopkins to write to RBoS, sending photocopy of mandate)
