Crathes, Drumoak and Durris Community Council(CDDCC)

Minutes of Meeting

1st March 2005 at the Irvine Arms from 7.30pm.

 

1)   Present.

            a)  Community Councillors:  David Morrish Chairman), John Hopkins, Jean Downie, Didier Terroir, Molly Atkinson, Donald Keith, Jill Gow and Julia Mackay.

            b)  Ward Councillors:  Jenny Watson and Sandy Wallace.

            c)  Members of the public:  None.

            d)  Apologies:  Hanni Willan,

 

2)  Approval of minutes           :  The previous minutes were agreed and approval proposed by Jenny Watson, seconded by Jean Downie.

 

3)  Appointment of Minutes Secretaries:  Doug Allstaff (April), John Hopkins (May).

 

4)  Drumoak School :

4a. There will be a meeting on Monday 7th March 2005 at Drumoak School regarding the proposed options for upgrade or construction of a new Drumoak School.  (Action :  Donald Keith and Hanni Willan will attend and report back at the next meeting).

 

5)  DYP 03: 

5a. Planning permission is in for the all weather playing pitch but not agreed by the planning department.  (Action:  Sandy Wallace will chase up the planning department).

 

6)  Park Quarry Liaison Committee: 

6a. There will be a meeting on 9th March.  (Action:  Donald Keith and William Downie will attend and report back at the next meeting).

 

7)  Major Developments:

7a. Naming of new roads in Drumoak – Committee members agreed on School Brae for the top field and School Lane Drive for the bottom field.  (Action:  Sandy Wallace will put our suggestions forward to Aberdeenshire Council).

7b. Issues raised about banking of earth on the new housing development.  Committee noted that there may appear departures away from the original plans.  (Action:  Molly Atkinson will have a look at the site and draft a letter with our concerns and e-mail it to members first for approval.  A response to this letter is aimed for the next meeting).

7c. An e-mail was received from David Hirst regarding Chap applying to build four houses in Woodlands of Durris.  He has concerns about heavy construction traffic passing Durris School and other traffic problems this may cause.  (Action: Sandy Wallace will look into it and Jean Downie will draft a letter expressing the CCs and David’s concerns and e-mail it to members for approval).

7b. Jenny Watson has asked for a Development Brief regarding the new housing development in Crathes.  She will keep the CC connected with progress.

7c. David Morrish has booked the Crathes Hall on 23rd March for a public meeting.  The public will have a opportunity to raise any concerns about the housing development in Crathes.(Action: David Morrish will inform Stuart Young of Dunecht Estate about this meeting).

7d. Issues raised about the junction at the Milton Crathes and Crathes Castle.  (Action: David Morrish will raise the issue with NTS at the Skytrek presentation).

 

8). Planning Applications (weekly lists) There were no applications of significance.

 

9).  Review Actions.

Nr 7.  David Morrish didn’t make the Community Council Forum meeting.

Nr 11a. On going.

Nr 11b.  Date for the bike ride along the Deeside way 23rd April starting at Duthie Park. (Action: David Morrish).

 

10) Correspondence – No specific issues or action arose from the correspondence other than 12b below.

 

11) CC Priorities for 2005 - Topic held over to next meeting

 

12) AOB

12a. Bank Mandate – It was agreed that the bank mandate be updated to include the Chairman, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. John Hopkins kindly agreed to guide everyone through the process. The relevant councillors to bring a copy of their passports and a utility bill to the next meeting, (Action: John Hopkins, David Morrish, Hanni Willan & Jill Gow)

12b. Crathes Castle – SkyTrek – Community Councillors have received an invite to a presentation at the castle to explain their latest development which includes the shop, restaurant and some kind of aerial adventure. (Action: a number of Community Councillors will attend one of the sessions. A letter of CC support will be sent to NT. David Morrish will do this)
