Minutes of Meeting

Tuesday 2nd November 2004 at the Irvine Arms from 7.30pm.

 

1.    Present

·       Community Councillors : Donald Keith (acting Chairman), David Hirst, Molly Atkinson, Jean Downie, David Morrish, Jill Gow, Julia Mackay and co-opted member Hanni Willan.

·       Ward Councillors : Councillor Sandy Wallace.

·       Members of the Public: Paul Wilson (Drumoak Primary - School Head Teacher).

·       Apologies: Ron Stark and John Hopkins.

 

2.    Approval of previous months minutes :

·       14(a) Delete Sandy Wallace from action list.

·       Minutes approved – by Jean Downie, 2nd by Jill Gow.

 

3.    Minute taker Rotation: Volunteers are: Jean Downie for December and Julia Mackay for January.

 

4.    Matters arising from previous month :

 

·       (7) 25th November Community Council Forum – David Hirst will attend if available, anyone else interested let David Know.

·       (8) Mineral extraction in Drumoak (action Sandy Wallace on going).

·       (10) Letter received from Robert Smith MP he will keep in touch, information given to Janet Dean.

·       (11) Invercannie Water Works attended – recommended.

·       (12) The Old Bridge at Kirkton Initial contact made with Andrew Lewis to be followed up with site visit (action Donald Keith).

·       (13) Closure of Park Bridge Road carried forward to December meeting (action John Hopkins). Sub-Committee for quarry liaison meeting, (action Donald Keith).

·       (14) Drumoak School – Public Meeting possible early December with Hamish Vernal (action Hanni Willan).

·       (15) 1. Drumoak Housing – Sandy Wallace stated going to I.S.C.

·               2. Head of Planning Christine Gore, David Hirst to draft a letter – ‘building bridges’.

·       (16) DYP03 Insurance David Hirst signed lease.

·       (17) Kincardine and Mearns Area Partnership David Morrish attended – Will attend next meeting 2nd December – Concern expressed that it might just be a talking shop but agreed that DM stay in touch and see where it’s going.

·       (19) Traffic Islands on going Sandy Wallace sent a letter waiting for a reply.

 

5.    Correspondence :

·       Design awards agreed no action.

·       Revenue and Capital Budget (action John Hopkins)

 

6.    Drumoak School Action Plan :

·       Keep Parents informed, flyers through school, Parish newsletter, Post Office and Shop. (Action Hanni Willlan).

·       Web Site (action John Hopkins).

 

7.    DYP03.

·       Finish youth shelter part of project this side of Christmas – thoughts please of a Grand Unveiling to Donald Keith.

 

8.    Preparations for AGM on 7th December 2004.

·       After discussion agreed Drumoak Church Hall would potentially attract more of the public than Crathes Hall.(Action Jill Gow to book Church Hall).

·       Encourage new members (action all).

·       Advert in Piper (action Donald Keith).

 

9.    Planning Applications

·       Check local plan if we can support Mr and Mrs George Philip.(Action Donald Keith)

 

10.                       A.O.B.

·       Sandy Wallace stated – changes in the boundaries for Aberdeenshire Council – consultation in the New Year.

·       Proposed 45 new houses in Crathes, applicant may which to bring it forward.
