1. Cancellation of October 2003 Meeting

The cancellation of the October 2003 meeting was noted.

 

2. Annual General Meeting

It was agreed that the AGM should be held on the same date (2 December) as the ordinary December meeting. The AGM should be at 19.00 hours for 19.30 hours, with the ordinary December meeting to follow, with closure of the latter by 21.30 hours. To facilitate this, the following actions were agreed:-

• distribute notices of AGM with minutes of November meeting – ACTION John Hopkins
• incorporate notice of AGM in Church Newsletter – ACTION Don Keith
• incorporate notice of AGM in website – ACTION John Hopkins
• produce Treasurer’s Annual Report for incorporation in Church Newsletter (deadline 16 November) – ACTION John Hopkins
• produce Chairman’s Annual Report for incorporation in Church Newsletter (deadline 16 November) – ACTION Don Keith
• book venue for AGM (Kirkton Hall) – ACTION Dave Hirst
• produce Agendas for AGM and December meeting for incorporation in Church Newsletter – ACTION Don Keith

1. Brodie Countryfare

Don Keith noted that the report from the Scottish Executive Reporter on Brodie Countryfare still awaited.

4. Ordinary Meeting Venues for 2004

It was agreed that meetings should continue to be on the first Tuesday of each month, at the Irvine Arms.

 

5. Charitable Donations

It was agreed that the following charitable donations would be made:-

• Friends of Durris Forest - £50
• Durris School Swimming Club - £200
• Drumoak and Durris Church - £200
• DYP 03 Project - £200

(As the meeting was non-quorate, the decisions on these donations were also subsequently verified with Jill Gow).

ACTION John Hopkins to send donations to recipents (DONE)

With the withdrawal - for personal reasons - of the main organisers, progress on this project had effectively ceased. The need for replacement volunteers was re-iterated.

In the short term, the following actions were agreed:-

• collect from Duncan Wight the balance of the proceeds of the Auction – ACTION Don Keith
• contact Steven Marshall at Stonehaven about matching funds for the (first) Teenage Youth Shelter – ACTION Don Keith
• discuss with Eric Clark the possibility of proceeding with the complete Teenage Youth Shelter, possibly involving a constructed (rather than bought-in) structure– ACTION Don Keith
• consider the possibility of making the erection of the Shelter a community event, akin to a "barn-raising", as a means of creating publicity and attracting volunteers – ACTION Don Keith

4. Deeside Way

It was noted that Aberdeenshire Council proposes to start work on the Dalmaik to Drumoak section "this year" (whether calendar or financial, not being stated).

 

5. Membership

ACTION – All to consider names for targetting as potential Community Council members and to circulate these names to current members.
